Introduction
Shrimp,
fish and other marine organisms utilize many unicellular algae in estuarine
and marine culture ponds during early feeding as well as in adult stage.
More than 40 marine algae currently cultured as live food for aquaculture,
among which are Nannochloropsis oculata, Tetraselmis chuii, T.
tetrahele, T. suecica, Dunaliella salina, Isochrysis galbana,
Chaetoceros calcitrans, C.
ceratosporum, C.gracilis, Skeletonema costatum, Thalassiosira pseudonama
and Phaeodactylum
tricornutum have been demonstrated as
suitable algal diets for cultured bivalve molluscs
and shrimp larvae. At present, N. oculata,
I. galbana, T. tetrahele and C.
calcitrans are commonly used as larval
diet in aquaculture due to their good nutritional values.
Among
the 11 essential amino acids, arginine, threonine, tyrosine, valine,
methionine, leucine, lysine and tryptophan are
important for the development of marine fish
and shrimp larvae. Furthermore, some of the essential minerals
play vital roles in the synthesis of chlorophylls, carotenes, vitamins,
amino acids and fatty acids. Some important PUFAs,
especially arachidonic acid (20:4n-6),
eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA, 20:5n-3), docosapentaenoic acid (DPA,22:5n-3)
and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, 22:6n-3) synthesized by these marine
algae are essential for larval growth and
development of marine fish and shrimp as well
as other organisms.
Description
Phyto-Grow is a product, specially designed for the best growth of
cultured phytoplankton in the shrimp and fish
hatchery. It contains all the necessary
elements for growing healthy and nutritional phytoplankton for the better
growth of shrimp or fish larvae.
Use of Phyto-Grow will assure proper culturing of suitable phytoplankton
that are essential for the proper development in the
early stages of shrimp and fish larvae.
Dosage
& Administration
Completely mix 400 ml of Phyto-Grow formula with 1-2 Lit of clean sea
water (best salinity 20-30 ppt) then this
solution could be sufficient for the culture of 1000
Lit phytoplankton.
Important:
Ensure there
is sufficient sunlight and aeration.
