Glutaraldehyde is able to bind itself to proteins through their amine groups. 
It acts by cross linking the proteins of the naked (or hydrophilic) virus' capsid.

 Glutaraldehyde's bactericidal and fungicidal activities come about as a result of 
its ability to combine with the nucleic acids contained in virus' DNA/RNA.

 Glutaraldehyde is strictly hydrophilic. 
It cannot cross any lipid barriers - the cell's lipid membrane nor the coating of lipophilic viruses.

 Quaternary Ammonium Chloride (QACs) are cationic tensio-active agents which are able to kill a 
wide spectrum of micro-organisms (Gram+ & Gram - bacteria, fungi, viruses) even at a very low concentration.

 Ultraxide H5N1 is a synergistic blend of Glutaraldehyde and QAC; 
a combination which allows Glutaraldehyde to kill germs from the inside!

 Acting on the cell membrane of the micro-organism, Ultraxide H5N1 changes cell 
permeability by creating dissolution of phospholipids in the cell membrane. 
The escape of cell constituents results in cell disorientation and penetration of glutaraldehyde into the microorganism.
